Then & Now
I started out fishing with my dad and mom probably as soon as I left the hospital after I was born. I know I was one year old when I reeled my first fish in with a little help, dad said it was a good three pound bass.
Dad never forced me to stay on the water more than I wanted to, but sometimes it was dad, not me, who was ready to go.
Look at me now, I run the trolling motor, can understand the electronics and even drive the boat on the trailer.
I love tournament fishing and always keep Ike's words in the back of my mind, "Never give up". Thanks dad for teaching me how to fish.
In 2008 I won two major events, the Maine Junior Bassmasters State Championship and the Junior Bassmaster Eastern Divisional, both were goals of mine this year as was competing in and winning the Junior Bassmaster World Championship. Unfortunately I did not win the JWC in 2008, but I did learn from that experience and tend to use it to my advantage when I go back again.

Most Memorable Tournament Day
Most memorable tournament day I have ever had was at the state tournament at Highland Lake in 2008 because I went most of the day without catching a fish and then in the last hour I caught 4 fish off a couple of docks. It was a beautiful day to go out fishing and it was important to me to move on to the Regional tournament.
I always wanted to know what it would feel like to be up on the stage that the pros have been on. I love fishing for pride, and that day gave me a ton of pride and confidence to push myself to catching enough to win the tournament.
Not only did I win the tournament, but I also made a new friend and had fun doing what I love to do best.
Most Memorable Moment
The most memorable moment I have is when I went to Kansas to fish in the Junior World Championship. Even though the weather wasn't good I had a fun time out there.
I also learned what a baseball hat is called in Canada. They call it a tuke.
While I was out fishing, my partner and I were so into the fishing, that we never got to sit down and eat out lunch.
When I was up on that stage it felt like I was on top of the world.
While my family and I were in Kansas we had so much fun off the water and at Spin City. I will never forget that weekend.
